Air purifiers help you optimise your indoor climate. The air is purified using the devices, which can, for example, reduce dust pollution or filter allergens out of the air. Sufficient humidity protects the skin and especially the eyes from drying out. Musical instruments, parquet floors and antiques can also suffer if the air is too dry.

Depending on your requirements, an air purifier, air humidifier or air washer can be the right choice for a better indoor climate. If you're not sure, the first step can often be to get a weather station. This allows you to determine how high the humidity in your rooms really is. The optimum humidity is between 40 and 60%. If it's above this, your room is too humid and if it's below, your room is too dry.

An air purifier is a device used to filter and clean the air in a room. They help to remove allergens, dust, various viruses and bacteria, and bad odours. The first and most straightforward difference between the air purifiers is the size of the room that they can cover. If you are looking for an air purifier for a large domestic kitchen, the air purifier should be suitable for the corresponding number of square metres. If you want to install the air purifier in a small home office space, a smaller and possibly cheaper device may be the right option for you.

If you're looking to set up an air purifier in a bedroom or children's room, you should opt for a particularly quiet device. There are two common ways to increase indoor humidity: Ultrasonic humidification and water evaporation. Both technologies can effectively increase humidity in a room and have their own benefits.

Ultrasonic humidification technology is one of the most popular methods of air humidification. It is characterised by particularly low energy consumption. The technology efficiently humidifies the air while at the same time being very silent.

Ultrasonic humidifiers use high-frequency oscillations to infuse air with tiny drops of water. A fan transports the humidified air into the room. The escaping mist is heavier than air and sinks to the floor. For this reason, the device should ideally be placed in a high-up location.

Our tip: If the water is particularly hard, we recommend using distilled water. This prevents limescale from potentially depositing on objects (e.g. furniture) in the room.
